Onward and upward toward our goals of the 7 zero environmental wastes (true north): energy, water, emissions, materials, garbage, transportation, and biodiversity.

Congratulations everyone!

Becoming a Green Company is an imperative for any/all companies using the earth’s resources. If your company is environmentally conscious now, great. If not, it will soon need to be. This is more than just being profitable….it is being sustainable in a world of constantly diminishing resources and seemingly ever-increasing depravation of the global environment.

Green Company is a lean workshop series designed to help you significantly reduce your environmental footprint by eliminating unnecessary resource consumption and the environmental contamination via:

a) Waste of Energy (electricity, natural gas, gasoline, oil)

b) Waste of Water

c) Waste of Materials

d) Waste of Garbage

e) Waste of Transportation

f) Waste of Emissions

g) Waste of Biodiversity

There are a series of 6 one-day workshops you and your company team actively participate in:

1. Environmental Principles & Waste

2. Mass Balance, Measures, and Input/Output Process Mapping

3. Value Stream Mapping the Current State

4. Value Stream Mapping your Future State

5. 6S & Environmental Yellow Tagging (making environmental waste visible)

6. Project ID and Kaizen Ranking

We rely heavily on 3 major references for Green Company: 1) the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Lean Toolkit, 2) Brett Wills’ Green Intentions, and 3) JCM Work Design’s extensive experience with using lean and six sigma to dramatically reduce waste in any enterprise (industry, government, healthcare, education, retail, transportation, etc).

After the above workshop series is completed, on-site implementation begins. This can take the form of either Major Kaizen Events or Six-Sigma DMAIC Projects, whichever is most appropriate. JCM can assist with facilitating either/both, and can provide the on-site training for Kaizen or Six Sigma DMAIC as well if necessary (although is is preferable to use your own company-certified Kaizen Facilitators or 6-Sigma Green/Black Belts).

JCM Work Designs/The Lean Sigma Team can design and conduct a this workshop to meet your specific needs. Please contact us for a formal proposal.
