Description

A Lean Black Belt is a person who has achieved “black belt” level competency in 10 performance dimensions as defined below. He/she is a full time resource for their organization and works 100%+ on lean transformation. This person must be able to show evidence they’ve been working in this capacity for a minimum of 3-5 years, and continue in this role today.

JCM Work Designs/The Lean Sigma Team is proud to certify people as Lean Black Belts! They are truly precious resources in any company.

Performance Dimensions

Project Leadership (heads up lean projects…..4 – 12 per year)

Management Advisor (helps managers “lead” lean implementation)

Knowledge Transfer (builds lean capability in others)

Quantitative Results (returns 10X his/her salary in value to the company…every year)

Self-Improvement (continuously improves him/herself by attending lean seminars, reading books, benchmarking others, participating in webcasts, membership in professional organizations…SME, AME, ASQ, others)

*Each of these dimensions are assessed on a scale of 0-10 using the LBB Self-Assessment Table. A score of 700+ is required for lean black belt certification. This assessment and resulting score must be agreed to by JCM Work Designs and the sponsoring manager in the candidate’s own company.

Documentation Required:

Lean Certification – Green Belt Program

JCM Work Designs is proud to provide our Lean Green Belt Certification Program to qualified candidates and companies.

The Lean Green Belt Certification Program is not simply a training program therefore it typically is not delivered as a public seminar. It is designed to be conducted in parallel with and in support of a Lean implementation effort in a company.

Lean Green Belt (LGB) Certification Criteria:

· Full participation in the “Achieving Your Future State Series” in a Value Stream, or Certification as a Lean White Belt

· Actively working in support of one (or multiple) Value Stream(s).

· Candidates can come from various parts of the enterprise, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, stores, purchasing, planning, transportation…..any part of the macro value stream.

· Expectations are that the Lean Green Belt candidate will:

a) Fully participate in and successfully complete the entire 64-hour Lean Green Belt training program

b) After that, conduct a minimum 2-hour Lean training class with his/her people on the lean topic related to their Major Kaizen.

c) After this, lead a Major Kaizen Project in their own Value Stream (or facility)

d) Volunteer to be available to work up to 1/2 time on Lean projects virtually anywhere across his/her company

The LGB Program is 8 days of intense learning for a maximum of 10-12 people

There are the 22 Lean Topics, the same ones covered in the Lean White Belt Program, but the focus is now on implementation in the Lean Green Belt Program. The emphasis for each topic is on implementation via:

A3 Problem Solving & A3 Reporting

Change Management

Transition Management

Lean Leadership

Culture Change

Upon successful completion of all requirements, the Lean Green Belt graduate will receive a martial arts Lean Green Belt and an official framed Lean Green Belt Certificate. Certification is predicated on mutual agreement, between JCM Work Designs and the candidate’s own company, that the candidate has satisfactorily completed all requirements and is ready to be acknowledged as a Lean Green Belt.

JCM Work Designs is happy to work with any company interested in the LGB program. We recognize this program is actually a transfer of our own Lean capabilities to the company and, therefore, we guarantee the quality of certification will be maintained at a very high level. Please contact us for a formal proposal.
