Lean Principles (Lean Introduction) is a foundation workshop intended to impact the current thinking of what is possible in any business enterprise.   It is applicable to all functions in a business: staff and line operations, purchasing, warehousing, planning, finance, information technology, shipping, manufacturing, engineering, technical support, and all types of management. The intent of this workshop is to dramatically illustrate the results possible with Lean, and what’s required to become a Lean Enterprise.

  1. Understand the Lean Strategy is based on the 5 Lean Principles
  2. Learn some of the Lean terminology
  3. Feel the direct impact of a traditional business, an improved traditional business, and a lean business via a learning simulation.
  4. Measure the financial impact of Lean (via the simulation).
  5. Identify the 2 biggest barriers to Lean in any business enterprise.
  6. Learn the contrast between traditional measures and Lean measures.
  7. Understand the difference between a traditional organization and a lean organization.
  8. Clarify the role of a Value Stream Leader.
  9. See the impact of organizational culture on Lean.
  10. Know what it takes to be successful with a Lean Journey.
