Lean Office Newsflash

We just finished a 5-day Lean Office workshop with a client in Canada where the 10-person Management Team ….

Day 1:  Completed a Current State Value Stream Map from Customer RFQ  to Installation and Accounts Receivable.

Day 2: Clarified the Timeline….25 weeks leadtime with 5 weeks value-added.

Day 3: Drew in the VS Loops and Brainstormed 300 improvement ideas.

Day 4: Used Kaizen Ranking to prioritize the 300 ideas by VS Loop.

Day 5: Selected the top 30 ideas and created an Implementation Plan for the next 5 Quarters (through YE 2010) with 13 Major Kaizens and 17 Minor Kaizens.

This is the Hoshin Plan for the company that will carry it through the next year and enable it to become much better with its business process: 

RFQ –> Order –>Plan & Release –>Purchase –>Engineering –>Production –> Installation –>Service –>Accounts Receivable –>Payment
